Holiday Greetings from Mrs. Parker

Mrs. Parker and Flapperjane preparing the Holiday issue over apertifs.

Say all you flappers and shieks out there, I realize that flapperjane and I have been quiet for a while. We haven’t forgotten about you—we’re still hipped on the site. It’s just that with our social calendars and budding film careers going through the roof, we haven’t had much time to sit down and pick up a pencil. But we don’t want to abandon you. So for the near future (well, as far as we can see through our gin-glazed eyes) we will be coming to you in a quarterly fashion rather than monthly. We will also be revamping our archives so you’ll be able to find similar articles filed together rather by issue (actresses with actors, potatoes with vodka). Hopefully we’ll soon be able to publish more frequently, but for now we’ll just have to say “how do you do” less often.

In the meantime, we hope you enjoy this winter issue. Flapperjane has finally sat down to tell the story about some actresses close to her heart—the Talmadge sisters, those darlings of the silver screen. And yours truly has decided to talk about one of my all time favorite books—Ernest Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises (wasn’t he the cat’s meow?). If you don’t already own a copy, buy one now. In fact, buy two to be safe. In addition there are the usual new recipes, drinks, and laughs.

So read on and enjoy, and we’ll be back in a few months. And keep the messages coming—we love them! And remember, if you have an article or photo you’d like to share with us, send it along. Happy Holidays and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.
